Lance Carter, P.E., Technical Director, Strata Systems, Inc.:  Mr. Carter has been involved with MSE structures for more than 15 years and began his career as a Design Engineer with Tensar Earth Technologies, Inc. (1993 – 1999), assuming additional responsibilities while advancing to the position of Manager of Engineering Operations. These duties included all aspects of design for reinforced earth structures; including retaining walls, steep slopes, roadway/base reinforcement, and foundation systems. He also worked as Regional Engineer with Advanced Drainage Systems, Inc. (1999 – 2000), providing technical support to engineers, designers, sales personnel, and contractors. Most recently Mr. Carter was Manager of Landscape Products with the National Concrete Masonry Association (2000 – 2004). There he was responsible for the development of technical and marketing publications for landscape and earth retention systems. He also was involved in development of industry codes and standards for design, construction, and testing of segmental retaining walls. As Technical Director with Strata Systems, Inc., Mr. Carter is directly responsible for engineering support and design, product quality control and performance testing, development of technical resources, and participation in geosynthetic industry associations. Mr. Carter is a graduate of Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University with a BS in Civil Engineering, and is a Registered Professional Engineer – Georgia PE#24508.  Email:  LCarter@geogrid.com
