Module 7.F – Polymer Enhanced Water Clarification (1.0 PDH Credit) by Applied Polymer Systems, Inc.

Introduction

In this Water Clarification Module, you will learn about using polymer-based products to enhance commonly used Best Management Practices applications such as storm water treatment, particle collection, and treatment of geothermal well discharge.  You will also learn about the importance of samples and analysis, toxicity testing, and particle collection after treatment.  ‘How-to’ sketches and instructions are included for using polymer to treat water in storm drains, down drains, and closed pipe systems.  See photos and descriptions of polymer being used in dewatering bags, mixing ditches, in-stream baskets, and tank systems.  Particle collection is an integral part of water clarification and here, you will find great photos and information on dispersion fields, particle curtains, wattle/check systems, and mixing chambers with baffle grids.
